MET Partners with BEM to Promote Elevator and Escalator Safety Through "BEM Safety Share" Campaign

Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (MET), in collaboration with Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), organized the "BEM Safety Share" campaign on 10 July 2026 at MRT Lat Pharo Station to promote the safe use of elevators and escalators among passengers of all ages, with a particular focus on senior citizens, who are at greater risk of escalator-related accidents.

The campaign aims to reduce escalator-related accidents, raise safety awareness among older adults, and encourage the public to assist and support senior passengers while using public transportation, helping to create a safer and more inclusive travel environment for everyone.

The event features a variety of educational and interactive activities, including fun games with souvenirs, demonstrations on the proper use of elevators and escalators, information on escalator accident statistics, key safety guidelines and prohibited behaviors, as well as practical safety tips for senior citizens and children. Participants also could learn about emergency equipment installed in elevators and escalators and how to use it correctly in case of an emergency.

Through this initiative, MET and BEM reaffirm the commitment to enhancing public safety by promoting knowledge, awareness, and cooperation among passengers. By encouraging safe travel practices and looking out for one another, especially senior citizens, the two organizations aim to reduce the risk of accidents and contribute to a safer, more confident, and sustainable public transportation experience for everyone.
