Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) organized the "BEM Safety Share: Safe Steps 2025" event in collaboration with Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (MET) at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center MRT Station. The event aimed to raise safety awareness among passengers of all ages, especially the elderly and children. The event featured educational and fun activities, such as an escalator symbol quiz, a "Catch the Safe" game, a "Safe Spin" wheel, and a "Take a Photo, Post It" activity.
Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was honored by Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited to share knowledge on safe elevator and escalator use. The event provided information and guidance on proper escalator use, such as always holding the handrail, not carrying objects with both hands, and not walking or leaning on it while in use. This included using elevators instead of escalators when carrying heavy luggage and simulating the experience through VR technology to simulate riding a high-speed elevator at Shanghai Tower.
In addition to the educational content, the event also featured a quiz with a chance to win special prizes, including dolls, umbrellas, bags, and blanket pillows, to help passengers learn about safety. BEM emphasized the concept of "3 Steps to Safety: Memorize It, Be Safe," which includes always holding the escalator handrail, avoiding carrying both hands, and using the elevator with a lot of luggage. This reinforces BEM and MET's commitment to ensuring safety and promoting confident and sustainable travel for all users of all ages.
