Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd. or MET, a leading sales company of elevators, escalators, and moving walks, is committed to business excellence alongside social responsibility. We believe that actively contributing to society fosters sustainable development. One of our proudest Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives is the Hometown School Development Project.
The Hometown School Development Project provides employees the opportunity to participate in the development of schools in their hometowns. Employees can nominate schools in need of improvements for student benefit. This year, Ban Phakhao Phonphaeng School in Sakon Nakhon Province was selected, following a nomination by Mr. Ved Santho from the Maintenance Department. The project focused on constructing a Library and Computer room, funded by Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and donation from its employees and business partners. The building was designed by students from INDA, The International Program in Design and Architecture, Chulalongkorn University.
Mr. Katsuya Kawabata, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) Co., Ltd., accompanied by volunteer employees, subcontractors, and university representatives. The university team was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Shusak Janpathompong, Director, International Program in Design and Architecture (INDA), Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University. Together, formally presented the new facilities to Ban Phakhao Phonphaeng on February 22nd, 2025.
In addition to the handover, we participated in a Robe Offering Ceremony and provided educational equipment and supplies. Solar cells were installed in the new building to promote environmentally friendly and help reduce global warming. We also planted trees in the school area as part of our environmental initiative, "One Lift You Need, One Seed We Plant," which aims to support environmental conservation and expand green spaces.
MET, we sincerely hope to contribute to enhancing the quality of life for children and sending positive values in society for the future.
